Accessibility Information for visitors to The Lind & Lime Gin Distillery

We are pleased to have consulted Euan’s Guide to ensure that we provide disabled access information in advance of people visiting The Lind & Lime Gin Distillery. We provide assistance as requested by guests as part of our customer service and are more than happy to do what we can, where possible, to enhance our guest experience here at Lind & Lime.

Getting Here

We are located in Leith, Edinburgh and you can arrive at the distillery by car, bus, bicycle, taxi or on foot. By car - visitors arriving by car should be aware that there are limited parking spaces at the distillery. There is one designated disabled parking bay.

By train -  the nearest station is Edinburgh Waverley Train Station, Princes St, Edinburgh EH1 1BE 2.2 miles from Lind & Lime.

By bus - Services 16, 22, 35 & 36  stop at Victoria Quay on Commercial Street a 3 minute walk away and services 7, 10, 12, 14 & 21 stop at Mill Lane on Great Junction Street a 5 minute walk away. Lothian buses (lothianbuses.com)  are wheelchair accessible and operate these services which run frequently to and from the city centre. Please note that Coburg Street is a cobbled street sloping slightly downhill if arriving on the bus from the Mill Lane stop. 

Edinburgh Bus Tours Majestic Tour stops at Ocean Terminal which is a 10 minute walk away from the distillery.

By foot - it will take you approximately 45 minutes to reach the distillery if you choose to walk from the city centre.

By bicycle - it’s great to cycle along the Water Of Leith pathway. We currently do not have bicycle stands outside, however you may bring your bike into the distillery for safe storage during your visit.

The Lind & Lime Gin Distillery is a non - smoking venue.

We welcome one carer ticket per paying visitor. Please bring along your carer status ID.

There are no outdoor facilities at the distillery.

There are no catering facilities on site for food or hot drinks. Soft drinks are available for non drinkers and we offer take home bottles of the tasting drinks for designated drivers.

Front Of Shop Lind & Lime Accessibility Tour Info

The entrance to The Lind & Lime Gin Distillery is at the bottom of the car park which is slightly sloped downwards. There is a narrow drainage gulley in front of the door which is accessible to wheelchair users. The main entrance is on the ground floor, the door is 87 cm wide and manually opens inwards. 

There are no steps into or throughout The Lind & Lime Gin Distillery.

Floors are concrete throughout.

The shop is manned during opening hours and there is a doorbell to the right of the main door should assistance be required. 

As the shop is a small space it can feel quite busy between tours with customers leaving and arriving for the next tour at the same time. 

There are high stools available for anyone needing a rest. 

Dogs are welcome in the shop however as we bottle our gin on site, dogs are not permitted in the distillery.

The Tour

The Lind & Lime Gin Distillery is a working distillery and although we do not conduct the tours on production days, industrial equipment is present. The distillery is a large open space on one level and accessed through the shop.

The toilets are on the same floor as the tour. We have designated male & female toilets plus 2 unisex cubicles and an accessible toilet.

Doors are not automatic however we have staff on hand to assist with opening doors as required.

There is a short talk about how to navigate the distillery before the tour begins and Fire Exits and toilets are pointed out at this time. 

Tours are conducted in English. We currently do not currently offer tours in BSL or other languages.

Tour group size is a maximum of 20 people. The group move together throughout the tour to different areas of the distillery, always accompanied by a tour guide.

Chairs and tables of varying height are available throughout the tour.

Part of the tour involves bottling your own miniature gin. Full instruction is given on how to operate the bottling machine and this process is monitored by the tour guide.

There is a little natural light in the distillery, LED strip lights are overhead.
